| Margaret Murchison is a native of Lee County. A product of the Lee County School System, Central Carolina Community College, Campbell College Transfer Program and a Graduate of Cambridge State University's Distance Education Program. Margaret has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication with a Minor in Marketing. She has been employed at WWGP
Broadcasting Corporation since 1978 as the News and Public Affairs Director
for WWGP-1050AM. Margaret also serves as a co-host to Steve throughout the morning on the Swap Shop as they interview guests and play various trivia and other contests.

Margaret has received numerous awards and commendations including:

- News Director of the Year
- Four Way Test Award from the Sanford Rotary Club
- Outstanding Democrat of Lee County
- Governor's Award for Outstanding Volunteer Service
- Recipient of the first Small Business Advocate Award
Margaret is a member of the First Calvary Baptist Church, Director of Youth Ministry, Chairperson of the Black History Committee, Church Historian and a member of the Marea Singletary Missionary Circle.
She is married for 39 years to Fred B. Murchison Jr. They are the parents of one son, Fred III, a complaint investigator for U.S. Airlines.
Her favorite hobbies include: Shopping for shoes and reading.
Future plans are to own an Events Planning Business.
